ABC has confirmed that Agents of SHIELD will get a second season. All things considered, this is good news...
It took long enough, but Marvel's Agents of SHIELDfinally became the show everyone hoped it was going to be. After a rough start that saw the show shed viewers week after week, there was some concern that Agents of SHIELD might not make it to season 2. But after a series of strong episodes in the wake of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and generally better word of mouth all around, Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a second season.
The news came in tandem with the announcement that ABC will also go to series with Agent Carter starring Hayley Atwell, a show that will focus on the early days of SHIELD. We still haven't heard anything regarding episode orders (both are likely to be expensive shows to produce). We suppose it's possible that both shows will have fewer episodes than the traditional 22-23 episode season, in order to best play off each other.
