Plenty of new footage and a little "Cherry Bomb" in new TV spot for Guardians of the Galaxy.
After what could be considered a little bit of a PR disaster with Edgar Wright walking away from the director's chair of the upcoming Ant-Man and all talk of forced Marvel re-writes, Marvel's marketing department has been heavy in their promotion of August's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians has been all over TV for the past two months, not necessarily rare, but still fairly early before its August 1st release. The early ad campaign means more footage coming out to persuade green audiences, which can be pretty fun for anyone looking for sneak peeks. Guardians of the Galaxy has released a new extended TV trailer that not only gives us more glimpses of the film, but more idiosyncratic soundtrack choices, on par with the past "Hooked On a Feeling" and "Spirit In the Sky" trailer appearances.
The new trailer gives us more time with all the characters, but specifically Glenn Close's leader of the Nova Corps, Irani Rael, and the absolutely awesome Rocket Raccoon, voiced by Bradley Cooper. The trailer also shows us a bit of destruction on the what looks to be a human home planet, Xandar. And to score the whole deal? The Runaways'"Cherry Bomb." Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on August 1.
