The big baddie for Arrow season 3 has been revealed, and Batman fans should be very happy...
Well, I tried to get this one out of Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg during the SDCC Arrow roundtables (and I'll post more from those over the next few days), but apparently they were saving this one for a big Saturday night reveal in Hall H during screenings of the pilots for The Flash(read our review), Gotham, and Constantine. Spoilers await, but really, this one will be completely inescapable. The big villain of Arrow season three has been revealed.
His name is Ra's al Ghul. Ever heard of him?
"We have a really clever way of doing Ra's this year that is true to the comic-book origins but different from the way Ra's was portrayed in the Nolan movies," said Marc Guggenheim.
Ra's hasn't been cast yet, but we should hear something shortly. Expect him to rear his Demon's Head fairly early in season three.
We've heard Ra's al Ghul's name mentioned a number of times on Arrow, usually spoken by members of the League of Assassins, Malcolm Merlyn, or the Canary. We even got to meet his other daughter, Nyssa, in a few episodes. In other words, this was inevitable.
But once again, we're forced to ask...when you bring in a major Batman villain on a show like Arrow, doesn't this make eventual appearances from other Bat-family members a virtual certainty? There's always those Nightwing rumors...
Keep up with all our Arrowcoverage right here.
