New details on DC's The Multiversity, coming from Grant Morrison and a host of top-flight artists.
Grant Morrison is gettting ready to drop another psychedelic metafictional knowledge bomb on comic book readers this August with The Multiversity, an eight issue limited series that will explore the outer reaches of the DC Comics multiverse. While the multiverse was reborn in the wake of DC's Infinite Crisis and the subsequent 52follow-up (and still exists within the confines of the New 52 universe), readers haven't seen all that much of it. That's about to change.
The Multiversity consists of a two-part framing story and six-issues of world hopping madness that will include visits to alternate Earths in the DC multiverse that include familiar faces like the classic Shazam family, the Charlton heroes in an adventure that is reminiscent of Watchmen...which they inspired in the first place, and many others. Artists on The Multiversity include Cameron Stewart, Frank Quitely, Chris Sprouse, Ben Oliver, and Ivan Reis.
Rather than try and decode this too much, let's have a look at how Grant Morrison mapped out the whole thing courtesy of this map that came to us via Entertainment Weekly.

The "orrery of worlds" is a concept we saw used heavily in Morrison's Final Crisis series several years back.
Comics Alliance have a lovely interview with Morrison that goes into more detail about the concepts behind the project. Meanwhile, have this gorgeous image of Shazam/Captain Marvel as drawn by Cameron Stewart.

We'll be waiting anxiously for The Multiversity to arrive in August.
