Ever hear about something that you never thought would be a good idea, but once you see it in front of you, it turns out that it's actually really, really cool? That's kind of like what happened with this Spider-Man 2099/Superior Spider-Man team-up. Then again, now that I think about it, it's the same thing that happened with the very concept of Doc Ock inhabiting Peter Parker's body. The Superior Spider-Man team doesn't play anything safe, so why start now? Regardless of how you feel about the VERY 90s Marvel 2099 line of books, you have to admit, Spidey 2099 always looked pretty sharp, didn't he?
