Neil Gaiman may write a few episodes of the American Gods TV series, which may involve more than just American Gods.

I apologize for the kind of vague, yet somehow also sensationalist question that headline poses. But if you stick with me for a hundred words or so, it may pay off. Anyway, remember that American Gods TV series that has been in development forever and ever and now finally has a new home at Starz with Hannibal's Bryan Fuller producing? Well, it's still happening, and Neil Gaiman might get directly involved.

Mr. Fuller spoke with Crave Online where he revealed that we shouldn't expect American Gods to grace our screens until around 2016. That's fine. We've waited this long. Don't expect a straight adaptation of the book, though. "It’s basically the following the events of the books but expanding those events," he said, "and expanding the point of view to go above and beyond Shadow and Wednesday."

That's good. But you know what's even better? American Gods may adapt more than just its namesake. "I believe that we have permission to use – since Anansi Boys are in the world of American Gods– that we would be allowed to use those as well."

That's great. So, what could really put it over the top? Mr. Fuller promised that Neil Gaiman is not only executive producing but is "very involved." When asked if that would involve writing a few episodes, Fuller said (with love, we're sure), "He’d god damn well better."

We hope so, too. Maybe not quite as forcefully, though.
