Oh, that Alan Moore. Just when you think he's out, he comes back, with something probably brilliant.

You just never know with Alan Moore. One minute he's quitting public life. The next he's finishing up a one million word novel (no, for real), coming back to comics, being a wizard, etc. Whatever it is he's doing, he's probably doing it better than you are, though.

Anyway, the point is, Alan Moore is writing a new comic book series from Avatar Press with Gabriele Andrade on art. The book is Crossed: +100, and is the story of what happens when a plague has reduced humanity to its most "base, most evil desires" and the aftermath of all of this. Cheerful stuff, to be sure. Probably no superheroes, deconstructed or otherwise. It comes out in December. Just in time for the cheerful Christmas season.

Said Moore of the project, "I think people think of Crossedas a horror story, and I can see why. It is extremely horrible, [but] I was thinking that Crossedis actually a science fiction story that has got a really, really high horror quotient. So that was the way that I started approaching it.”

Crossed: +100 is a sequel to the Crossedseries that was written by Garth Ennis. Ennis had this to say about the whole thing: "So it turns out Jimi Hendrix wants to play in my band. He wants to sing songs. I don’t usually worry about vindication, but Alan is probably the one person whose opinion would be enough to change my mind about what I do."
