The PowersTV series is a reality, and we may actually get to see it this time (there was a pilot for FX in 2009 that never materialized). The series, which deals with a police precinct in a world where superheroes (and villains) are commonplace, seems like a natural fit for TV.
Just to let you know how real it is, here's your first look at your two leads, Sharlto Copley (District 9) as Christian Walker and Susan Heyward (TheFollowing) as Deena Pilgrim.

Mr. Copley definitely looks a bit less like the traditional, square-jawed former superhero that Michael Avon Oeming drew in the Powers comics, but that's just fine. Very little about Powersis what you would call "traditional." What's far more important is that the chemistry and relationship between these two leads reflects what we saw in the comic, which already reads like a cable drama. Seriuosly, go find yourself all of the Powerscollected editions by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, so you can be cooler than your friends once the show starts.
Mr. Bendis himself says that the show will be "a different experience" from the comics. "My dream was for the show and the books to almost run in parallel universes as they explore the same themes," he said.
Powerswill debut on the Playstation Network in 2015. There are more details on the series over at USA Today.
