Every October now brings a new tangibly macabre excitement. Yeah, yeah, Halloween’s coming and that’s great. But for the millions of fans that have made The Walking Dead the most viewed cable drama of all time, it is all about a candy bowl full of zombies and existential angst.
Our survivors including Rick, Daryl, Maggie, Carl, and poor, dear Glenn, have had a go of it, losing one sanctuary right after another. The farm’s gone, the prison’s gone, and even their most dear loved ones are gone. But they trek forward, united again for a new mission in season five.
Below is AMC’s new trailer for The Walking Dead season five. In the preview, we are given glimpses of the plot for the year, which includes our affable heroes attempting to escape a grim fate in a train car, so that at least some of them can attempt a march on Washington D.C. in hopes of a cure. It is surely not to be the most peaceful trip to the capital in recent memory.
The Walking Dead returns for its fifth season on October 12, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, exclusively on AMC.
