Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, the first foray into television for Marvel Studios, will return to ABC on September 23 for its second season. Agents of SHIELD has the unique distinction of being tied to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, so the events that happen on the silver screen spill over into SHIELD’s storylines.
In its first year, SHIELD struggled to find its own identity and suffered from some shallow characterization early on, but after the events of Marvel’s fantastic blockbuster Captain America: The Winter Soldier rocked the MCU, SHIELD picked up steam and finished strong.
