If you caught Arrow this week, you noticed Felicity very much resembled a character from Neil Gaiman's Sandman...
On the latest episode of Arrow, "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak," (you can read my spoiler-filled review of that one right here) Emily Bett Rickards' character was sporting a...very different look during the episode's flashback sequences. Sure, she was a goth in college. That's great. But not just any goth...
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ms. Rickards spoke about Felicity's different look. “She definitely looks completely different. She's younger, she was finding herself but she was on the track where we see her now because we do see her find her true self,” she said.
Well, that's fine. But there's one scene where Felicity is a ringer for Death from the pages of Neil Gaiman's Sandmanseries. It turns out, that was no accident, either. “Well, I think we're sort of just nodding [to that character]. I don't know how close we're going to get to completing that comic-book fetish and dream in this particular episode [laughs]. But maybe in times to come? I don't know the plan as far as that goes.”
This actually might not be bad casting, now that I think about it...
