There's a casting shortlist for Jessica Jones and Luke Cage for the upcoming Marvel Netflix TV series. Details here...
We're still six months away from the premiere of Daredevil, but casting is underway for the next two Marvel Netflix series, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. There are some names emerging for both roles. Expect both to be cast around the same time, as Luke Cage will play a supporting role on the Jessica Jones series before launching his own.
Right now, Marvel are looking at Kryten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer, and Jessice De Gouw for the role of Jessica Jones, "a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes." I'm not playing favorites, but both Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) and Jessica De Gouw (The Blacklist) would certainly nail the attitude required for Jessica Jones.
As for Luke Cage, Deadlinereports that Lance Goss (Crisis) and Mike Colter (The Following) are in consideration. Cage is said to appear in "6-7 episodes" of Jessica Jones.
So, we pretty much know the order of Marvel's Netflix plan, now. Daredevil arrives in May, and then we'll get (in order) Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, IronFist, and then finally, The Defenders. More on all of this as we get it.
