With the Supergirl TV series from Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler eyeing a spot on the 2015 fall schedule on CBS, the big question is...who is going to play Kara Zor-El? Well, there are now reports (courtesy of The Wrap) that someone familiar to CW fans is testing for the role. That would be The Vampire Diaries' Claire Holt.
While Supergirlwill air on CBS, it's obviously sharing a number of production elements with the CW (notably, Mr. Berlanti himself), as that's what might just allow Supergirl to appear on The Flash or Arrow(or vice versa). But Ms. Holt's schedule is about to get very busy, unless, of course, there are nefarious plans for her character of Rebekah in the Vampire Diaries universe.
This is what we believe to be the official logline for the series:
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
