Bryan Singer and Oscar Isaac have been hunting for the humanity in Apocalypse, ahead of filming starting on the next X-Men film.

Bryan Singer starts shooting hisX-Men: Days Of Future Past follow-up, X-Men: Apocalypse, in the spring. And recently, it's been confirmed that Oscar Isaac - who won a bunch of awards for his performance in Inside Llewyn Davis - is taking on the role of Apocalypse in the film.

Now, chatting to IGN, Isaac has been talking about how he and Singer are planning to realise Apocalypse on the big screen.

So how are they going to do it? "In the early conversations we talked a lot about that [Apocalypse's point of view and what he's after]. Of course, you read the comic book, and [he's] not so shaded with grey - except his face, that's the only thing grey about him."

Isaac added that "just as Bryan's done with the other films, I think he seeks to find something a little more interesting than the archetypal aspects of the characters, which work really well in print, but for a film I think you want to see a bit more of the - for lack of a better word - humanity in [the character]."

"I am incredibly interested in the challenge of finding someone that's psychologically interesting and compelling, and actually the spiritual aspects of the character," Isaac said. None of which gives too many clues away, but does hint at the direction they're heading in.
