Scott Lang's new solo series is about to hit the scene and we have some nice cover images and lettered pages to show you.
This summer, after the wave of excitement for Avengers: Age of Ultron begins to die down just a bit, we’re getting the Ant-Man movie. While the Guardians of the Galaxy success makes it seem like Marvel can do no wrong, Ant-Man is going to test that theory more than anything else. Not only is he not really the most popular of heroes, but, you know, there's been all that behind-the-scenes ruckus. At the very least, Marvel is trying to push the character with a new ongoing series starting next month.
Ant-Man #1 is put together by the team of Nick Spencer and Ramon Rosanas. Spencer is just coming off the ending of his acclaimed series Superior Foes of Spider-Man and it looks like we’re in for a bit of a continuation as one of the covers shows the current Beetle making out with the Superior Tony Stark. It seems that the corrupted Iron Man will be giving Scott Lang a major opportunity to make a name for himself. What that entails, I have no idea.
Since being brought back in the pages of Young Avengers: Children’s Crusadea couple years ago, Ant-Man has become the leader of the Future Foundation. His status as main character in the pages of FF led to him taking down Dr. Doom himself as revenge for the loss of his own daughter Cassie (who apparently will be making a return somewhere down the line). And man, he beat the bejeezus out of Doom! All while making fun of him and stuff for being a pathetic lame-o jerk who everyone thinks is a cool badass. Hey, don’t look at me. Take it up with Matt Fraction. Lang also had a supporting role in Original Sin as a possible replacement for Nick Fury.
