Check out the new pulpy poster of Hayley Atwell as ABC and Marvel's Agent Carter right here...

With all the goodwill with this year’s Marvel movies, it’s sometimes easy to overlook how much better Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has become. Proving that the studio’s cinematic universe can play on the small screen too, the hype is ready to welcome in a new series for the new year, and one far more directly tied into the films: Agent Carter.

In celebration of that holiday charm, Marvel Studios and ABC have released the below new poster for Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, the love interest of Captain America: The First Avenger who now will be taking the fight to Hydra in this period series. And quite fittingly, there is something almost pulpy about her contrasting red hat and blue suit that would do the likes of Chester Gould and Dick Springer proud.

Marvel's Agent Carter, starring Captain America's Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.”

The series stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, and Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley. Dominic Cooper is also scheduled to appear as young Howard Stark.

Agent Carter premieres with a two-hour debut on January 6, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT on ABC.
