SyFy Signs Jim Uhls To Adapt Spin

SyFy is adapting Robert Charles Wilson’s science fiction novel Spin into a miniseries.

Robert Charles Wilson’s science fiction novel trilogy Spin is will be a adapted into a six-hour miniseries for the SyFy network.

Syfy announced that it signed Jim Uhls, who wrote Fight Club, Semper Fi and Jumperto write the adaptation. Robert Charles Wilson’s Spin won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 2006. It tells the story of a young scientist trying the save humanity from a cloud that is engulfing and isolating the Earth.

Spin was published in 2005. It was the first of a trilogy of the best-selling books that included Axis and Vortex.

Spinwill be produced by Universal Cable Productions, along with Rob Morrow’s Bits and Pieces Picture Company and Olympus Picture’s Leslie Urdang.

Leslie Urdang and Olympus Pictures are best known the Oscar nominated film Beginners, which starred Nicole Kidman. They also made Thanks for Sharing, which starred Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow.
