Arrow Season 3 adds Doug Jones as Villain

For the first time all season, we're going to have a genuine metahuman threat on Arrow. I mean, depending on how you do your math, this might be the first real metahuman villain the show has done. It depends on where you think the mirakuru zombies from season two fall on the "meta" scale, I suppose.

The metahuman in question is Deathbolt, a guy who can do some zappy electrical stuff. Not the most exciting villain in DC's pantheon, but whatever. The more interesting end of this is that Doug Jones (who played the Silver Surfer for cryin' out loud) will play Deathbolt. Presumably, he won't have to be under a ridiculous amount of prosthetics and we'll actually get to see a little of Mr. Jones. Then again, maybe Deathbolt is a being of pure electricity, right?

In true Arrowfashion, we probably won't hear the name "Deathbolt" mentioned...unless Cisco Ramon shows up. Instead, Jake Simmons is "a metahuman with the ability to harness and weaponize plasma energy." Cool.

Now, the questions I have are: did he come over from Central City? Did he get his powers from the STAR Labs particle accelerator? Is this the episode where Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer sees some superpowered action as the Atom? We'll know when Arrowseason 3 episode 19 airs. Probably in April.
