Star Trek and Iron Man actor Faran Tahir has joined the cast of the Supergirl TV series for CBS.
NewsThose super-folks sure do love bald villains, don't they? Faran Tahir, who played the villainous Raza in Iron Man and the ill-fated Captain Robau in JJ Abrams' first Star Trek film, has joined the cast of the SupergirlTV series as a mysterious bad guy.
Mr. Tahir is playing someone called The Commander, described as "an alien military expert leading the forces aligned against Supergirl." I'd be willing to put a few bucks on his "alien" heritage being Kryptonian, but you never know. In any case, he sounds like someone who will be sticking around for the season.
This is now the third villain (or potential villain) to be added to the show, and it's clear that Supergirlwon't be shying away from its comic book roots right out of the gate, even though I'm not really sure who this one is supposed to be. We already have exceedingly minor supervillain the Lumberjack on the cards, and pre-villainous versions of the Cyborg Superman and Toyman all set to be introduced in the pilot episode.
Supergirlarrives on CBS this fall.
