Mrs. Deadpool and the Howling Commandos Coming This June

Next month, Deadpool is going to bite the dust. Probably. Temporarily at most. That means he’s going to miss out on all the craziness with Secret Wars. Although the amazing Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn run will be coming to a close, the legacy of the series will continue on for at least a little bit longer. Deadpool’s widow Shiklah is going to be taking care of business in the Secret Wars tie-in Mrs. Deadpool and the Howling Commandos by Gerry Duggan and Salvador Espin.

Shiklah was introduced in the digital series Deadpool: The Gauntlet (later released in print form as Deadpool: Dracula’s Gauntlet). In it, Shiklah the succubus was awakened from a very lengthy slumber for the sake of marrying Dracula and bringing peace to their kingdoms. It was Deadpool’s job to deliver her. On the way, the two fell for each other and that was probably for the best, considering Dracula was going to have her killed. The two got married and Shiklah ruled the city of monsters roosting under New York City.

She may have lost her man, but she still has a kingdom to protect, especially with this Battleworld nonsense. With her is the Howling Commandos...only not the actual Howling Commandos...or the ones that are in the current Punishercomic either. This team includes the likes of Bug (her little sidekick), Man-Thing, Werewolf-by-Night, the Frankenstein monster, Living Mummy, and last but not least, Marcus. Marcus, for those of you who haven’t read The Gauntlet, is a centaur werewolf with an alien symbiote and diabetes. Truly, he is the total package.
