The greatest screen Dynamic Duo will provide the voices of Batman and Robin in an upcoming animated movie. Holy comeback!
This might just turn out to be the most pleasant surprise of the month. Adam West and Burt Ward will return to their most famous roles as Batman and Robin. The pair, who remain the most iconic live-action version of the Dynamic Duo ever seen, will provide the voices for one (or more) upcoming animated features.
Burt Ward revealed the news at the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 28th, promising that there will be one "possibly two" animated features, 90 minutes in length. No other details were shared, but the plan is to have them out in time for the 50th anniversary of the classic BatmanTV series in 2016.
The original BatmanTV series is in the midst of a remarkable resurgence over the last few years, with a slew of merchandise (from clothing to high-end action figures and collectibles) to an ongoing comic book series based exclusively around their TV adventures, and, of course, the first official and comprehensive home video release of the show. Hopefully, these animated features will make for a suitable capstone.

We'll keep a close eye on this one. Hopefully we get official word from Warner Bros and some other details in coming days. Maybe this animated incarnation of Batman will come with its own celebrity special guest batvillains!
