As the release date nears, The Syfy Channel prepares to launch its newest reality docu-series, Fangasm.
Set in the build-up to one of the nerve centers of niche pop culture, Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo Convention that is held annually in Los Angeles, Syfy has thrown together seven disparate fan personalities and placed them in a house. Together they will work as interns for Spider-Man creator Stan Lee’s convention, and give fans a peak into the very different personalities within their own culture. Also, with a potential full-time position on the line, tensions will fly, as perhaps will cos-play costumes and encyclopedic geek knowledge.
These roommates stop at nothing to prove their fan-cred to each other, debating everything from favorite superheroes, Star Wars vs. Star Trek, and even what they would do in the event of a real zombie apocalypse. And while the claws do come out, this hilarious and loveable group is ultimately bound together by a shared joy of fandom.Over the course of the season, the eager group dives into their internships at Comikaze as it prepares for the upcoming Comikaze Expo – the comic, gaming, anime, sci-fi, fantasy horror and general pop-culture expo held each November in Los Angeles.
The series premieres on the Syfy Channel Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10pm.

First the pathetic Heroes of Cosplay and now this idiocy? Sy Fy must have a lot of money to throw away on bad programming. The only thing that still gives me hope for this floundering network is news of possible shows such as "Dominion."
