Don't expect the Lazarus Pit to start bringing back too many of your favorite characters...

News

The latest episode of Arrow, "The Fallen," was not only a tremendous little piece of television, it also firmly established the Lazarus Pit in all of its supernatural glory as a new fixture of the DC TV Universe. I won't get into more details than that, because it all gets pretty spoiler-y, but you can imagine the implications of a magical spring (cue that awesome Ride song) that can bring characters back from the dead.

And oh, there are so many dead characters on Arrow. And lots of those taking the ol' dirt nap are folks that fans would like to see again. Well...Marc Guggenheim says don't hold your breath.

“Now that we've got [the pit] in our world, and we have a lot of dead characters in our world, we will be addressing how it works and the circumstances and things of that nature....I know that is something our fans are going to be very interested in. I'm sure after the events of episode 20, there will be a lot of, "Get Tommy in the pit. Get Moira in the pit." We don't have any plans to do that, but we have an explanation for why that is the case.”

We suspect we've already seen some of that explanation on "The Fallen," given how a certain character reacted. It also doesn't help that some of these other characters have been worm food for quite some time. Now, we do know that Caity Lotz will be back for the next Arrow/The Flashspinoff series, so presumably the Lazarus Pit ban doesn't apply to her. We'll find out soon enough...
