Invincible Iron Man #1 First Look at New Marvel Series

Iron Man is getting a new ongoing series as part of the All-New All-Different Marvel initiative coming out of the conclusion of the Secret Wars event, and he's got quite an arsenal of talent powering up for this one.

Invincible Iron Man #1 unites writer Brian Michael Bendis with artist David Marquez. Bendis is known for his rapid-fire dialogue, and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark always felt like he was written like a Bendis character (the writer spent considerable time with Tony during his stint writing assorted Avengers comics). But this is the first time we're getting the undiluted Tony Stark experience from him, so it should be a fun time.

Here's the official synopsis...

Exploding out of the pages of Secret Wars comes a fresh new take on the Armored Avenger in a gigantic new series! New armor, new villains, a new supporting cast and a new purpose as Tony Stark bursts across the landscape of the Marvel Universe. And a shocker of a last page that will have the entire comic industry talking! Plus, questions will be answered – what really happened at the end of Secret Wars #8? Who are Tony Stark’s biological parents? The quest begins here!

There are a ton of variant covers for this one. Usually, I think variants are extraordinarily lame, but this one by Bruce Timm, a tribute to the cover of the original Invincible Iron Man series by Gene Colan, is pretty awesome.
