Mads Mikkelsen, a villain? We refuse to believe it. Oh, wait, no that makes perfect sense. Especially a magical one in Doctor Strange.

News

Marvel's Doctor Strange movie has already assembled an impressive cast. You've got Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and now...Mads Mikkelsen as an unnamed baddie. Maybe.

Mads Mikkelsen, who is about to have some time on his hands since there will be no Hannibalseason 4, is talking to Marvel. You see, it's my least favorite words on the internet, "early talks." I'm in "early talks" about whether my dinner should be an expensive restaurant or not, but it could still just end up being a salad. Anyway, the point is, Marvel is considering Mads Mikkelsen for a villainous role.

Which one?

Damned if I know.

Could he be the Dread Dormammu? Maybe. I can't imagine Marvel hiding him behind a giant flaming head. And he's just the actor to possibly break Marvel's ongoing streak of lousy villains not named Loki.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mikkelsen has promised that he isn't playing a villain in Star Wars: Rogue One. Yeah, right. Rogue One is now shooting, and that should wrap up right around the time Doctor Strange is scheduled to get underway around November or so.

Doctor Strange opens on November 4th, 2016. Scott Derrickson directs from a script by Jon Spaihts.
