
NBC commits to a Brides of Dracula pilot from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Greg Berlanti
NewsA new drama coming from NBC will imagine that Dracula’s intrepid vampire hunter Van Helsing didn’t finish off the three brides of the count and that they are now running a goth night in New York City.
The network committed to a pilot for Brides of Dracula, a new series from Archie Comics Chief Creative Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who scribbled the film The Town That Dreaded Sundownand the dreaded TV series Glee, and Greg Berlanti , who executive produced The Flash and Supergirl. The pilot will be written Aguirre-Sacasa
According to the official synopsis, Brides of Dracula is “a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy — and their non-traditional family.”
The Brides of Dracula first stalked Bram Stoker classic novel. They lived in Dracula’s dusty castle in Transylvania and they could hypnotize a man with a couple specks of dust.
Berlanti and Aquirre-Sacasa previously worked together on the Archie-meets-Twin Peak series Riversale.
