Will Smith and Jared Leto worked side by side on Suicide Squad for six months. And never exchanged a friendly word.
NewsWe already know that Jared Leto has been taking his role as The Joker in David Ayer's upcoming movie of Suicide Squad rather seriously.
In bringing his take on The Joker to the DC movie universe, he's already sent odd gifts to his cast members, and taking a bit of a method approach to his work. And now Will Smith has been chatting about working with Leto on the Suicide Squad movie.
Or rather: not working with him.
"I've never actually met Jared Leto," Smith told Beats1. "We worked together for six months we've never exchanged a word outside of 'action' and 'cut'. We've never said 'hello', we've never said 'good day'."
Smith is playing Deadshot in the movie, and he added that "I've only ever spoken to him as Deadshot and him as the Joker. I literally have not met him yet. So, the first time I see him will be 'hey, Jared. What's up?'"
"Not a single word exchanged off camera. He was all in on the Joker... I'm looking forward to meeting him", Smith added.
So are we. Suicide Squad arrives in cinemas in August 2016. More on the film as we hear it...
