The Crow reboot may be a troubled production, but Corin Hardy says he’s ready to get back to work as soon as possible.

UPDATED:

As we reported back in October, Corin Hardy is still directing The Crow. The Wrapalso adds that production is set to begin on the troubled project in March of 2016. We'll let you know more details as they arise.

Our original story from October 22nd follows.

Corin Hardy, director of the hot indie horror film The Hallows who was tapped to helm the long-in-the-works reboot of The Crow, has told Den of Geek exclusively that he’s still attached to the troubled project despite the fact that the studio behind it, Relativity, has put all its projects on hold as it attempts to emerge from bankruptcy.

Hardy told us today during a phone interview, “I’m absolutely involved. It’s been frustrating that we’ve had this delay, but it’s something that I’m looking forward to continuing the work that we were all in the thick of when the Relativity situation occurred. It’s a movie that I’m incredibly excited and passionate about, and something which had a big effect on me as a 17-year-old watching the original film and reading the graphic novel.”

Hardy added that he was already deep into the production design, screenwriting and casting elements of the film and plans to continue working as soon as the Relativity issues are sorted out. But the director will certainly have his hands full once the project (hopefully) ramps back up again: he still needs a star to replace the departed Jack Huston, for one thing, and legal action from producer Ed Pressman against the studio could complicate the matter further.

We’ll have more from Hardy closer to the release of The Hallows in early November.
