Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle will become a TV show, thanks to FX and Noah Hawley.
NewsFX is turning Kurt Vonnegut's classic novel Cat's Cradle into a TV limited series. Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley is helming the project. According to THR, he will both write and produce the series.
Cat's Cradle tells the story of a man named John (who calls himself Jonah) who sets out to write a book about the day the United States dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima. In true Vonnegut fashion, John falls deeper into a web of satire and science fiction, as he befriends a man named Felix Hoenikker, a scientist who worked on the atom bomb.
Like many of Vonnegut's novels, Cat's Cradletackles themes of war and technology in a satirical manner, while also injecting the story with a bit of science fiction for good measure. This will be the first Vonnegut work to be adapted for the small screen.
We'll report more on Cat's Cradle as soon as we hear it!
