See the first official image from the set of Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot as Diana in a very familiar location...
NewsEarlier this month, we received the surprising news that Wonder Woman is beginning filming this month, and indeed, it has! Taking to Twitter to reveal the first official image from the film production, Gal Gadot has released a new photo of herself as Wonder Woman—or perhaps just the Princess Diana—on the set of the movie.
In the below image, fans can see Gadot as Wonder Woman standing in what is most clearly London with jolly Big Ben in the background while she is shrouded in hood and cape (likely less conspicuous than strapless armor). If the previous images we have seen of Chris Pine in the role of U.S. pilot Chris Pine are any indication, it would likely appear that Wonder Woman is in London in time for World War II… best of luck with the Blitzkrieg, there.
Upon its release, Wonder Woman will be the first DC superhero movie in six years without Batman or Superman in the leading role. This fresh change of pace will also make Diana the first female superhero to have her own solo movie in the shared universe world. The film is being directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) and it stars in addition to Gadot and Pine, Nicole Kidman as an Amazonian warrior, Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (Children of Men), David Thewlis (Harry Potter), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
