Check out a new Captain America: Civil War magazine cover that showcases Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther alongside Iron Man and Cap.
NewsChances are you had many things to be thankful for during last week’s festivities. However, one of them almost certainly included the mouth-watering sight of the Captain America: Civil War trailer where it was Cap vs. Tony Stark and brother vs. brother. The trailer also included a blink-and-you-missed-it look at Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, the eagerly awaited new MCU superhero from the country of Wakanda.
Now, thanks to a swanky new Entertainment Weekly cover, we also have a better look at Boseman in the iconic superhero role alongside Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Chris Evans as Captain America. The image is also intriguing because it would seemingly hint at the iconic cover of a Civil War comic book where Spider-Man stood torn in the middle of Stark and Rogers’ grudge match. Could this be further proof that Black Panther will take on the Spider-Man role of that saga as a hero tempted by both ideological sides of this conflict?
Captain America: Civil War is the third installment of the Captain America film series (or Avengers 2.5) that sees the superhero community divided after a new government organization is created, whose role will be to decide when to enlist the services of the Avengers. Essentially drafting the Avengers and all superheroes to be registered hands of the establishment, the prospect leaves Steve out in the cold while Tony Stark becomes its staunchest supporter. Of course, this can only be settled in a fistfight.
Captain America: Civil War opens May 6, 2016.
