PreviewEven though Uncanny Avengers is only a couple issues old so far this run, Spider-Man’s panel-time has already consisted of him cutting out almost immediately. Why? Well, he isn’t too keen on being on the same team with Deadpool. So of course, coming in January, he’s going to have his own team-up series with Deadpool. Parker luck, am I right?
In the new year, the red and black duo will be stuck working together under the creative team of Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness. In other words, the two guys who made Deadpool a household name in the late-90s are getting back together. For what reason are these two heroes teaming up, especially on a regular basis? Not quite sure yet, but part of it apparently involves fighting Mindless Ones.
Spider-Man and Deadpool have always had an Odd Couple relationship, but only recently have they really been playing up their differences. Usually, their interactions had to do with the fact that they’re both jokey and Deadpool is constantly mistaken for the webbed one. When they do team up, they never seem to get along due to Deadpool’s history as a killer and Spider-Man’s history as a guy who hates it when anyone dies. It pretty much writes itself.
