X-Force Movie Concept Art Surfaces

The X-Force movie is in limbo, but some concept art appears to show us who would make up the team.

There haven't been any updates on the X-Force movie in quite some time. But with the Deadpoolmovie starting to warm up the hype machine, it's only natural that people start looking around for updates on the X-Force movie. After all, Deadpool was once an X-Force supporting character.

All that was ever really in place for X-Force was a script by Kick-Ass 2director Jeff Wadlow. Mr. Wadlow was also in line to direct the movie. After that, things went quiet, and they got even more quiet after Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone landed another X-Men movie spinoff, The New Mutants. Funny enough, the original X-Forcecomics were a spinoff of Marvel's New Mutantstitle.

Anyway, via ComicBook.com we have a look at concept art from Greg Semkow, and it shows off what the team would have looked like. Cable is front and center, and we've also got Domino, Warpath, and Cannonball. The mystery girl? Maybe it's Ilyana "Magik" Rasputin (sister of Colossus), Boom Boom, Dani Moonstar, or Wolfsbane. Rob Liefeld once boasted that Deadpool would make an appearance in this one, too.

Check it out:

There was never a release date set for the film. However, according to X-Force co-creator Rob Liefeld, who is always pretty generous with giving fans insider status reports on projects like the Deadpool movie, Jeff Wadlow's X-Force seems to be dead in the water.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Deadpool movie teases Cable in some way, since those two have quite a history together. Perhaps if Suicide Squad is a hit for Warner Bros it will give Fox the added motivation to get the X-Force movie off the ground.
