Superman has had some utterly bizarre match ups in his career as the Man of Steel (Does anyone have a copy of Superman Meets Orson Welles?). But what the hell were the kind folks at DC thinking when they teamed up Supes with....Jerry Lewis?!? And Supes wasn't the only member of the Justice League that teamed up with Jerry Lewis (meanwhile, Dean Martin was getting hammered with The Riddler...Frank Gorshin!) In fact, The Adventures of Jerry Lewis was an ongoing series; DC published 124 issues of a Jerry Lewis comic book between 1952 and 1971. That's insane! However, Mr. Adams never delineated any of these rather ill-advised Jerry Lewis/Justice League crossover comics...
Jerry Lewis Meets Batman
The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #97 (1966)
This one almost makes sense, as the real Jerry Lewis actually appeared on the 60's TV show, Batman and was the very first "celebrity window cameo" on the show! So for Jerry to meet the Dynamic Duo at the height of their go-go checked late 60s popularity was inevitable. What goes down; Jerry and his nephew are inspired to dress as Ratman and Rotten: The Boy Blunder (sigh). Jerry's nephew gets kidnapped - and the real-life Batman and Robin set out to find him...with Jerry dressed as Ratman tagging along! Pop-art comedy mayhem (presumably with a killer soundtrack) then ensues. Written by Doom Patrol and Deadman co-creator Arnold Drake (a fine comic writer with a knack for quirk who wrote a huge chunk of Jerry Lewis comics), this one isn't exactly his finest hour. Nevertheless, Jerry's run-in with costumed superheroes was enough of a success that DC decided to bring out the big gun next time...
Jerry Lewis Meets Superman
The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #105 (1968)
Yes, in 1968 Superman had a run in with Uncle Jerry in issue 105 of The Adventures of Jerry LewisWhat goes down in Superman Meets Jerry? Check out this scenario: Jerry Lewis takes Superman's costume...and the Man of Steel has to get it back! Comedy hijinks presumably ensue. Villians think they've discovered the true identity of Superman - which is...Jerry Lewis! In the end, Superman ends up outsmarting Jerry Lewis by flying so quickly around the man who is considered a genius in France - that it leaves Jerry Lewis naked in front of a gun-toting thug. You can purchase a copy of this comics masterpiece on eBay for $40 or less.
Jerry Lewis Meets The Flash
The Adventures of Jerry Lewis #112 (1969)
Jerry is assigned to watch over a tailor's shop (of course!), where he discovers that this particular tailor makes costumes for supervillains. (Of course!) Using Abra Kadabra's wand - which just happens to be laying around - Jerry's nephew sidekick accidentally changes him into the Flash, which (of course!) causes all of the real Flash's rogues to be summoned. The real Flash shows up and puts all his enemies in jail. Jerry and his nephew have a hearty chuckle (sigh...of course). If this sounds bizarre, let's not forget that Jerry Lewis also teamed up with Wonder Woman during her non-costumed mod-looking phase. The writer of this issue isn't credited, but some folks place the blame on E. Nelson Bridwell.

Jerry Lewis Meets Wonder Woman
Adventures of Jerry Lewis #117 (1970)
Here's the plot: Jerry Lewis falls for Wonder Woman after stalking her outside a movie theater. "HEY WONDER WOMAN LADY PERSON!" Oh yeah, Jerry Lewis' pint-sized nephew is along for the ride...for comic relief. Jerry drinks some potion - and then dons a fur loin cloth and does battle with the dude on the cover who wears the "Hate" badge. A big fat Amazon takes a liking to Jerry. Jerry drinks another potion that makes him belch fire. Mercifully, the end.
