Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato will create a cosmic murder mystery with crossover event Original Sin.
Now that Marvel's cosmic Infinity crossover event has wrapped up, it's time for Marvel to start looking at their next major superhero brouhaha. This time, the creative team in charge are Jason Aaron and Mike Deodato Jr, who will kick of Original Sin just in time for summer reading. Original Sin deals with the consequences of what happens when Uatu the Watcher turns up dead. Why is this such a big deal? Well, the Watcher knows EVERYTHING, so if somebody has wiped him out, that somebody probably has access to all the deepest, darkest secrets that Earth's Mightiest Heroes are hiding, as well as some cosmic level weapons that could cause a problem or two.
"It's all the skeletons, all the dark things that you never know, all the interesting and intriguing information — not all of it even bad," says Marvel executive editor Tom Brevoort, "And it will all expand out into dozens of stories that will cut to the core of who these characters are."
Original Sin will run for eight issues (plus the inevitable crossovers and tie-ins), with an additional zero issue by Mark Waid and Jim Cheung kicking things off in April. We're sure Marvel won't be shy about the details of this one over the next few months, so we'll keep you posted with everything we hear!
