The Flash is getting a new creative team, and Wally West will finally return to the DC Universe...
Wally West will return to the DC Universe and make his first New 52 appearance this April! In a story touting the new creative team on The Flash, USA Today casually dropped this rather momentous news, but with no further details. What we DO know is this:
Robert Venditti and Van Jensen will be writing The Flash with Brett Booth on art beginning with April's The Flash #30.
A week later, Flash Annual #3 hits, and that's where Wally West will return.
Whether this is simply a New 52 incarnation of Wally West (which would make sense) or a dimension-hopping Wally West stopping by from the previous version of the DC Universe (which would certainly have serious consequences) remains to be seen, and there aren't any details just yet. Regardless, it will be nice to see Wally again, in any capacity. The beloved former Kid Flash, who wore the mantle of The Flash for over twenty years before being replaced by again by his predecessor Barry Allen, has a devoted fan following that rivals that of Dick Grayson/Nightwing. We can't wait to see what's in store for him...
