The Agents of SHIELD will finally square off against a bona-fide comic book supervillain
Well, sometimes the internet guesses right. In this case, J. August Richards, who has played recurring character Mike Peteron on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, will in fact become Deathlok after the horrific injuries he sustained during the Agents of SHIELD midseason finale (and which were revealed in the show's midseason return). Richards will make his Deathlok debut on the February 4th episode of Agents of SHIELD, "T.R.A.C.K.S." The information was revealed at a Television Critic's Association event.
"We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson's story arc is an origin story," said Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell. "We're thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show."
"If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I'm so excited to be one now as an adult on TV!" added J. August Richards. "It's a dream come true."
Agents of SHIELDproducer Jeph Loeb, no stranger to the comic book world, said "Mike Peterson is certainly going through some changes on our show."
