If you've been waiting for 'Heroes' Season 5, the wait is over. Sort of.

NBC's cancelled, superhero sci-fi series, Heroes, is getting a revival of sorts.  This time, however, the series will be heading to the world of comic books, courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment.

Dynamite will launch a new comic book continuation of Heroes, which will take place when Season 5 left off, with the first issue being centered on Claire more than anyone else, with Hiro and Sylar also being important right from the get-go.  Other core characters, of course, will be introduced not long after the first issue.  The comic book will be written by Cullen Bunn, and no artist has yet been announced.

Bunn teases, "To me, this is picking up the story and taking it from where it left off, but there is a big curveball right from issue #1 of the comic. That will set a lot of what we've seen in the series on its ear. It'll change a lot, but this is essentially the continuation of the TV series. I'm taking it into some bizarre, unique and unusual territory. The benefit of comics is that you can do some things there that you can't do anywhere else."

Apparently, Heroes creator Tim Kring will not be involved with the comic book project.

Hopefully, a revival of the Heroes brand will lead to a new Heroes TV show. And, here's to hoping that Alex Ross, whom is now commonplace at Dynamite Comics, will lend his hands for some awesome artwork.

Heroes will debut later this year from Dynamite Entertainment.
