Another week, another preview image from the upcoming fourth image of Afterlife with Archie. The last time we caught up with the undead hijinks in Riverdale, Archie was preparing to brutally dispatch of a loved one who had been turned into a zombie. Disturbing? Sure! But at least he wasn't dealing with incest as well.
Yes friends, as hinted way back in the debut issue of the comic it seems that Jason and Cheryl Blossom are about to be revealed as being, um, very close indeed. Kudos to the marketing and publicity folks (including Steven Scott and just-announced Senior Vice President of Marketing and Publicity Alex Segura, who returns to Archie after a stint at DC) for conjuring up the absolutely inspired "blossomsintheattic" hashtag. By paying tribute to V.C. Andrews infamous chiller/middle school staple Flowers in the Attic, the creative team again winkingly acknowledges the wide array of influences that make Afterlife with Archieso consistently engaging.
I've said it before and I will say it again, we are a long long way from the days where Archie characters were being used in Spire Christian Comics.
