Jada Pinkett Smith will play ruthless gangster Fish Mooney on FOX's Batman prequel, Gotham.
The villain parade for FOX's Batman prequel, Gotham, just keeps marching on! Jada Pinkett Smith will play Fish Mooney, described via Deadline as "an imposing, hotheaded and notoriously sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner with street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book who is not one to be crossed." While Fish Mooney isn't really a name familiar to DC Comics fans, the official description for Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot describes him as one of Mooney's underlings. We can imagine how this will turn out for Mooney in the end, given Penguin's career trajectory in Gotham City.
Jada Pinkett Smith joins a Gothamcast that already includes Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon, Donal Logue as Gordon's partner, Harvey Bullock, Robin Lord Taylor as the aforementioned Oswald Cobblepot, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean (Gordon's fiancee), Sean Pertwee as Alfred, and Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen. Gothamhas a straight to series order, so we will hopefully see it by fall.
