Lestat de Lioncourt will stalk the literary world once again in 2014 with the release of Prince Lestat, by famed vampire author Anne Rice.
The second most well-known literary vampire will return in 2014. Prince Lestat, by Anne Rice, will arrive in bookstores on October 28, 2014. The new novel was announced on Christopher Rice's Dinner Party Show, followed by a personal note from the author on her Facebook page. "My new book, Prince Lestat...will be published on October 28th. It was such a relief and such a pleasure, at last, to be able to speak about the up and coming novel, which I finished some time ago. And I want to thank all of you who made this a thrilling experience for me. Thank you for your generous and enthusiastic posts, both here, and on The Dinner Party Show FB page. Thanks for letting me know you haven't forgotten by beloved Brat Prince."
On the show, Rice described Prince Lestat as "all about Lestat, and all about the vampires and what they're doing right now. How they're coming to terms with what has happened to them, and how Lestat is dealing with the demand from all sides that he step forward and become some sort of leader for the tribe." As for where Prince Lestatfits into the Vampire Chronicles mythology, "It's a sequel to the first five Vampire Chronicles...everything up through Memnoch the Devil." She also described Prince Lestat as the first book in "a new incarnation of the Vampire Chronicles." That should keep fans excited, shouldn't it?
