A three-minute trailer for NBC's Constantine has arrived. Fans of comics, horror, and horror comics should be pleased.
One of the biggest surprises of NBC's fall schedule has to be Constantine, a horror show based on Vertigo series Hellblazer, and featuring the exploits of supernatural badass, con man, former rock n' roller, and generally unpleasant fellow, John Constantine. While Mr. Constantine has already been the subject of a big-budget feature film, well...let's just say that it wasn't particularly faithful to the comics. NBC, however, appears to have just ripped John Constantine right out of the pages of a Jamie Delano/John Ridgway comic.
And it's not just Constantine himself who looks like he just stepped out of a '90s Vertigo book, there's a certain tone to this trailer that just feels like that particular era. They certainly appear to have found the right actor for the part with Matt Reeves, as well. Mostly, though, this looks legitimately scary.
Constantinewill air on NBC on Fridays beginning this Fall.
