PreviewMarvel law says that you can’t do an event without jumbling up the Avengers rosters. It’s just a thing that happens. Secret Wars is going to end soon and we’re getting the All-New, All-Different Marvel. With that comes new Avengers teams. This includes the ridiculous line-up of the brand new Uncanny Avengers.
Uncanny Avengers is the diversity group and boy have they picked from all over. You got Avengers guys like Steve Rogers, Spider-Man, and Dr. Voodoo. Mutants-who-have-also-been-Avengers Quicksilver and Rogue. Newcomer Synapse, who I suppose is an Inhuman. Then there’s extra names like Human Torch and Deadpool. Coincidentally, Human Torch is the last core Fantastic Four member to ever join the Avengers.
Deadpool, interestingly enough, is on the team for two reasons. One, he and Steve Rogers have recently become pretty good friends. Second, Wade is actually bankrolling the Avengers teams by merchandizing himself into oblivion. Yes, he’s the new Tony Stark and it’s awesome.
The book will be written by Gerry Duggan – the man who’s been killing it with Deadpoolthe past several years – and drawn by Ryan Stegman. We’ll see if Duggan can keep his momentum going on October 14.
