NewsGood grief, has it really been 65 years since Charles M. Schulz created Peanuts? Yes, it has been, and now his family wants to celebrate the tradition with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the whole Peanuts gang coming to theaters.
As the latest effort from Steve Martino and his team at Blue Sky Studios, The Peanuts Movie arrives with mighty expectations, as well as a screenplay co-written by Craig Schulz and Bryan Schultz (and Cornelius Uliano). Unlike previous screen adaptations of the beloved strip, Blue Sky is ambitiously attempting to recreate Schulz’s iconic art via 3D animation.
In The Peanuts Movie, Charlie Brown is smitten with a new redheaded girl in his school, and he’ll do anything to meet her. Unfortunately, Charlie Brown is still the kind of guy who takes advice from Lucy and never learns to not run for that football. Meanwhile, Snoopy might be having better luck as he takes to the skies once more for a cinematic showdown with his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.
The Peanuts Movie opens Nov. 6.
