Blade 4 may yet happen -- and Wesley Snipes is open to the idea of Blade joining The Avengers.
NewsRumors continue to persist about a return to the big screen for Blade, a role that Wesley Snipes is reportedly very interested in reprising. Snipes' incarceration, plus the disappointing critical and commercial response to Blade: Trinity, nixed any plans for Blade4 at the time. But talking with The Huffington Post, Wesley Snipes has revealed that a new Blade may yet be on the cards.
"There’s always a possibility, you know. It’s in Marvel’s hands," Snipes said. "They’re controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it. I’m still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t really know what’s going to happen to it yet."
As for whether he could foresee Blade joining The Avengers at some point in the future, Snipes gave a fairly predictable answer.
"That would be interesting. I mean, I know it’s in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in. He’s got to bite somebody. I don’t know who he’s going to bite."
Given thatthe tone of the Blade films leans toward an R-rating, an Avengers crossover seems a long shot to us. But a Blade4, or a Blade reboot? We'd be surprised if something didn't happen...
