Ryan Reynolds: 'Deadpool's greatest superpower is annoying the [cough] out of people'
NewsThe first of the seven comic book movies scheduled for 2016 is Deadpool, the potty-mouthed X-Men spin-off that's set to star Ryan Reynolds in the title role.
The movie is in post-production now, and Reynolds has spoken in a new interview with Games Radar about the fierce competition the movie faces in 2016.
Asked if the fact that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justicefollows just over a month later bothers him, Reynolds replied, "Deadpool's greatest superpower is annoying the shit out of people, so I imagine that he would spark a heavy wave of ire from any one of those groups."
He also spoke again about the infamous leaked Deadpool test footage, that proved a catalyst for getting the movie greenlit.
"The fans are the ones that leaked the test footage," he reiterated, "Which really was never meant for anyone besides in-house studio people. That's really what go it made." He added, "I wouldn't say I spent every single day emailing the studio heads at Fox".
Expressing his pride at getting an R-rated movie made, in part thanks to its "modest budget," Reynolds is clearly looking forward to Deadpool's release on February 12, 2016.
