The Collector is set to return to the Marvel cinematic universe in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2...
NewsWe didn't really get as much as we hoped of Benicio del Toro's The Collector in James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy. Especially after he was teased in the post-credits sting of Thor: The Dark World, it seemed he was set up for bigger things. Yet the character did his job, and had seemingly moved on.
Lots of actors are returning, of course, for the Guardians Of The Galaxysequel. Along with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan (along with the voice work of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel), it's now been revealed that del Toro -- currently featuring in the wonderful Sicario -- is going to be back too.
Zoe Saldana has confirmed the actor's return via Facebook. In praising Sicario, she wrote "I'll see you on Guardians!" A simple way to basically break the story.
That said, how big Benicio del Toro's role in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is likely to be remains to be seen. Production on the movie -- which Gunn is again writing and directing -- begins early next year. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is set for release in May 2017.
