
James Bond may have his biggest film to date going by early box office indications...
NewsThe new James Bond movie,Spectre, arrives in US theaters at the end of this week. But off its British box office haul alone, it's already being declared a sizable hit.
The movie, which reunites director Sam Mendes and incumbent 007 Daniel Craig, has enjoyed the biggest opening at the British box office of all time. The film is up to more than $80 million in grosses in just one week in the UK, beating the previous record holderHarry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
The film is also the widest release ever in Britain, playing on 2,500 screens across the country. It's also setting records for its IMAX earnings as well.
It's not just in the UK that Spectreis doing the business, either. It's opened in a few other countries too, such as Holland and Denmark, where it's outperforming the previous James Bond adventure, Skyfall.
Box office analysts are predicting an opening weekend in the region of $80 million in the US, and there's a sporting chance that Spectre may overtake the colossal $1.1 billion box office take of Skyfall. Not bad for the 24th film in a series...
