UK publisher Titan Comics is bringing a new line of Doctor Who comics to the world in 2014 and beyond!
Doctor Who has had a fairly storied history in comics, with talents as diverse as Grant Morrison and Joshua Hale Fialkov having their time with various versions of the Doctor. Titan Comics will write the next four-color chapter of the Doctor's (or Doctors') adventures beginning in 2014, with a new line of Doctor Who comic books!
As of now, no release dates or creative teams have been announced, although Titan is promising that those creative teams are "jaw-dropping." This will mark the end of Doctor Who's time at IDW, who have done a fine job with the license over the last few years, but considering the high-quality science fiction titles that Titan have been quietly producing over the last year, it's safe to say that the good Doctor and friends are in good hands.
So far, Titan have promised that their standalone adventures will feature the Tenth Doctor, the Eleventh Doctor, and (once he debuts) Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor. No word yet on whether they'll delve deeper into the Doctor's history at some point, but it seems like a reasonable proposition. As soon as more details are announced, we'll let you know!
Hopefully, we'll see these Doctor Who comics hit sooner in 2014 rather than later.
