The Fantastic Four reboot inches closer to becoming a reality this week as Variety reports that Simon Kinberg (Sherlock, X-Men: The Last Stand) has turned in his completed screenplay to 20th Century Fox. The studio also appears poised to begin casting auditions for the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm by the end this month.
It was previously reported that stars including Kate, Mara, Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Miles Teller, and Kit Harington were being considered for the roles of Sue Storm and Reed Richards. Also earlier this week at Sundance, Teller said, “Yeah that should be happening in the next few weeks,” when asked if he would be playing Reed Richards. However, it has been clarified that he meant he was auditioning for the role later this month. Game of Thrones’Kit is also set to audition, as is Mara of House of Cards and Ronan of Atonement and Hanna.
Meanwhile Michael B. Jordan appears all but confirmed for the role of Johnny Storm. His Chronicle director Josh Trask is also onboard and will reportedly have Jordan read with other actors to test for chemistry.
Fantastic Four flames on once more come June 19, 2015.
